Mushrooms – Are They Really That Good For Me?

Mushrooms – Are they really good for me?

When you are trying to lose weight and following any healthy diet plan, such as the HCG Diet, the focus is always on what you shouldn’t be eating so I thought it would be a good idea to focus more on what we can eat. It is a very good idea to have healthy veggies and fruit in your fridge just in case but one of my all time favourites is without a doubt Mushrooms – I absolutely love them and YES you can eat and enjoy them on the HCG Diet Plan. Just add spices such as garlic, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper or fresh chilli, even some lemon juice and they taste yummy. You can fry them in some coconut oil, add the spices you prefer and you will thoroughly enjoy them.

High In Various Vitamins

Mushrooms are high in various B vitamins, selenium, copper, protein, potassium, vitamin D, and fibre. Plus, they are around 90% water, so they are really low in calories. Mushrooms are also good at helping your body to manage bacteria, they aid the immune system, and they lower cholesterol. Pretty amazing.

Eat More Mushrooms

With all of that good news one might think there was a catch. Like, maybe mushrooms taste TERRIBLE. But they don’t. They have wonderful texture, can taste like almost anything (depending on how you season them), and are easy to cook in a variety of ways. You can do anything from braaing them to boiling them and frying them and they will still be good.
