Constipation on the HCG Diet System

Not everyone suffers with constipation whilst on the HCG Diet Plan however some people have this problem and in fact have had it for years, prior to starting the HCG Diet. I think there are some misconceptions here because the HCG Diet itself does not cause constipation.

Water

Please make sure to increase your daily water intakeĀ – even though you may already be drinking 3 litres of water daily, if constipated increase the water to at least 4 litres per day.

Fruit

We do recommend that one of the 3 daily fruits is an Apple and I would increase this to 2 Apples per day of the daily 3 fruits allowed on Phase 2 – as apples are known to help with bowel movements.

Vegetables

Are you eating enough veggies? In addition I do not know how many of you are aware of the great benefits of probiotics –
Probiotics work to rebalance your healthy gut bacteria and can be useful for weight loss. Helping your digestive tract perform at its best can be useful in any …weight loss diet but generally they are just so beneficial for your health everyone should be taking Probiotics.

If the problem with Constipation persists, after increasing the daily water intake and the two apples per day, please feel free to use a laxative such as Soflax or Senokot.
